In addition to putting on two shows a year the Players enjoy a busy social scene.
Players are kept up to date with planned events by a newsletter which is issued regularly by the social secretary.
Social events include an annual treasure hunt, which finishes at the pub, skittles night, bbq's, Christmas Party and regular trips to the theatre to see all types of shows ranging from popular musicals to classical opera.
Many of the Players members also belong to other societies and hence are often performing in their shows. The Players always support each other especially when members are helping other societies to raise their standard of production!!
Of course we are always interested in new ideas for social events so if you have an idea then shout out loud.
The whole emphasis of belonging
to Highcliffe Charity Players is to have fun and end up
.in the pub!
Come along and join in.

Charity Players continue to donate to worthwhile charities. The Rainbow School
in Highcliffe opened
their Garden/Play Area last week, which
HCP donated money to pay for. Martin Mansfield’s company ‘Outdoor
Designs’ completed the work and a huge thank you to Martin, Jo and their
team.

Christmas
Carnival - Saturday 8th
December 2007 - & Takeaway!
This
year’s theme is – Nursery
Rhymes! We are currently collecting names of people who are helping with
the Float, etc. Hopefully ALL of the Panto
cast will be helping which is great, but we still need more helpers and support
on the night so we can defend our WINNERS TITLE! Please let me know if you
can help and/or be on the float so we can sort out costumes, etc. Thanks.
Due
to the cancellation of our Xmas meal, I have (well, ok, maybe it was George’s
idea) decided to have a Takeaway after the carnival. I have (well, ok, maybe
Sue booked it for me) booked St.Marks Hall in Highcliffe for the evening of
the Carnival.
In past years, after the Carnival, everyone seems to go for a drink or something
to eat etc, however because some people have young children, it’s always
been difficult to arrange. Hence, the reason for booking St. Marks Hall and
have something to eat – as I know you will have worked very hard to build
up an appetite!
We will order the takeaways before we set off on the carnival parade, so that
the food is ready and piping hot for after the parade!! (Genius huh!). Highcliffe
has a selection of takeaways, Chinese, Indian, Fish & Chips, Kebabs!!!
Etc, so I will leave it to everyone individually to order their own takeaway
on the night.
We will then ‘retire…. Or die!’ to St. Marks to eat, drink
and enjoy each others company… Ahh!
Film:
STARDUST – Saturday
29th December 2007
The brilliant
looking STARDUST is coming to The Regent and I know a few people who would like
to watch it. The film is showing on Friday 21st December, Saturday
22nd December, then, Thursday 27th December to Sunday 30th December, and Wednesday
2nd January and Thursday 3rd January 2008. I would like to arrange a day to
go and watch, but obviously it depends on what days you guys and Gals can go
and whether you intend on bringing your
children, although, bear in mind, all the showings are at 7.30pm. I will propose
a date and await your comments – 7.30pm on SATURDAY 29TH
December. See you there!

We have kindly been given some authentic RAF uniforms to use in the show.
However, if anyone has, or knows of anyone, with World War uniforms, including
Hats, which they are happy to give, lend or sell to HCP, then please let me
or Sue Woodward know, thanks. (Sue: 07747 698 039).
Garage/Storage space……Loft sort!
It
has been decided that in view of the Extortionate cost of Storage space in
the much sort after area of
New Milton (which is where I live don’t
you know… ) we will be having a clear out/sort out of the loft on Sunday
25th November 2007. Sue and I will be up in the loft in the morning (no comments
please – Sue
is a much respected lady and backbone of the society…!) sorting things
out, but your help would be appreciated from 2pm onwards for Tip runs etc.
Thanks.
